    How to do it

    1. Drop your WebP files

.webp files, up to 30 at once.

    2. Start the conversion

PNG is lossless: no quality setting is needed.

    3. Download the PNGs

Separately or as a ZIP archive.

    Why convert WebP to PNG

Browsers have read WebP for years, but not all software does: some image editors, layout tools, print services and upload forms only accept JPG or PNG. PNG is the safest choice when you need transparency.

    Good to know before converting

    • PNG is lossless, but the original WebP may have been compressed with loss: the conversion does not restore details that are already gone.
    • The PNG file will be heavier than the WebP. That is normal, so the size shown may go up.
    • If your WebP has no transparency and you want a light file, JPG is a better choice.

    Frequently asked questions

    Will the PNG be heavier?

Yes, almost always. WebP is designed to be light; PNG keeps every pixel without lossy compression. The size before and after is shown.

    Is transparency preserved?

Yes. A WebP with a transparent background gives a PNG with a transparent background.

Does an animated WebP become an animated PNG?

No. Only the first frame is converted to PNG.

What if I prefer a JPG?

Use the WebP to JPG tool. Note that JPG does not support transparency: it will be replaced by a solid background of your choice.
