    How to do it

    1. Drop your JPGs

.jpg or .jpeg files, up to 30 at once.

    2. Convert

PNG is lossless: no setting is needed.

    3. Download the PNGs

One by one or as a ZIP archive.

    Why convert JPG to PNG

    • Editing: every new JPG save degrades the image a little. As PNG, there is no more loss, however many changes you make.
    • Cut-outs: PNG supports transparency, which you need to remove a background in your editing software.
    • Compatibility: some design tools and platforms require PNG.

What the conversion does not do

It does not make the image sharper and does not add transparency: the photo background stays as it is. The resulting PNG will also be much heavier than the JPG, because it keeps every pixel. For a light file meant for the web, prefer JPG to WebP.

    Frequently asked questions

Why is the PNG heavier than the JPG?

PNG compresses without loss and keeps every pixel, whereas JPG removes details that are hard to see. A photo as PNG often weighs several times more than the original JPG.

    Does the background become transparent?

No. JPG has no transparency, so the resulting PNG keeps the original background. Cutting out is then done in editing software.

Is the quality better as PNG?

It is identical to the source JPG: the conversion adds no loss, but does not recover details that are already gone.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No, everything happens in your browser.
