A watermark that reads without getting in the way
To sign a photo, place the text in a corner with an opacity of 50 to 70% and a modest size. To discourage reuse, the tiled pattern repeats the text across the whole image: harder to crop out, but more intrusive.
Light text on a dark photo, dark text on a light photo: a subtle shadow is added automatically to keep it readable.
What a watermark does not do
A text watermark discourages copying but does not stop a determined removal. It does not add an invisible digital signature. Image watermarks (logos) are not offered yet: only text is supported.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add my logo?
Not yet: this version only adds text.
Is the watermark permanent?
Yes, it is burned into the pixels of the downloaded file. Always keep the original.
Which characters are accepted?
Accented letters and common symbols (©, ®, ™, @). Non-Latin scripts depend on the fonts available and may not display.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No, the watermark is drawn in your browser. Only formats it cannot read (such as HEIC) go through our server, with a warning.
