    How to do it

    1. Drop your photos

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP or GIF, up to 30 at once.

    2. Choose the new background

Transparent, or a solid color of your choice.

    3. Download

PNG keeps the transparency; one by one or as a ZIP archive.

    How it works

The background is removed by U²-Net, an open source image segmentation model, running in your browser with WebAssembly. Your photos are never uploaded: the model is downloaded once (about 15 MB in total) and then works offline on your device.

The first image takes a few seconds while the model loads; the next ones are faster.

    Getting the best result

    • Works best with one clear subject: a person, a product, an animal, an object.
    • Good contrast between the subject and the background helps a lot.
    • Fine details such as loose hair or fur can be softened: zoom in on the result before using it.
    • For a white product background (marketplaces), choose "Color" and white, then JPG.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. The AI model runs in your browser; your photos never leave your device.

    Is it really free?

Yes, with no limit on the number of images, no watermark and no account.

Why is the first image slow?

The model and its engine (about 15 MB) are downloaded the first time, then reused. Processing itself takes a second or two per photo on a recent device.

    Which format should I download?

PNG to keep a transparent background. JPG has no transparency: the background becomes white or the color you choose.
