    Thumbnail rules

YouTube asks for a 16:9 image of at least 1280 × 720 px, in JPG, PNG or GIF, under 2 MB. At 90% JPG quality, a 1280 × 720 thumbnail is usually well under that limit; if not, lower the quality slightly.
